Zelenskyy tries to bait Putin into a US meeting using Trump
Since the Kremlin boss keeps dodging peace talks, Ukraine is trying a new psychological trick: hosting the meeting in America, where saying "no" means personally bruising Trump's ego.
So, Zelenskyy dropped a wild one. Apparently, he and Trump had a chat about hosting a Ukraine-Russia meeting right on US soil.
The logic here is beautifully simple, almost childishly brilliant. Putin has already rejected every other venue. G7? No. Anywhere else? No. But rejecting an invitation to the US is a different beast.
The plan is to make it physically impossible for the Kremlin to say "no" without directly insulting the host. And since Trump is not known for gracefully handling rejection, Putin might actually have to show up or face the wrath of an offended billionaire.
If he still refuses, Zelenskyy says we'll just need "additional pressure." Which is diplomatic speak for "we told you so, now give us the good weapons."
Let's see if the dictator has the guts to tell the host of the party that he's not coming to his house.
