Ukraine gets first dibs on SAMP/T NG and Rafale jets
Looks like Kyiv and Paris just made a massive shopping list that actually changes the game.
It appears Emmanuel Macron (male) and Volodymyr Zelensky (male) have been busy. Instead of just talking, they went ahead and locked in a deal that essentially turns Ukraine into the testing ground for the latest European defense tech. Ukraine will be the first country on Earth to get the brand new SAMP/T NG anti-ballistic system.
The shopping list doesn't end there. Kyiv is getting licenses to build SCALP missiles and AASM bombs locally, plus they're grabbing 16 Rafale jets. Pilots start training this year, and the first four birds should be arriving shortly after. Seems like the plan is to stop relying purely on hand-me-downs and start building the stuff themselves.
It is fascinating to watch how quickly the status of Ukraine shifted from a defense recipient to an active co-producer of high-end Western weaponry.
