The "Cloud" is officially running Ukraine's defense now

Original version ·

Meet Yevhenii Khmara. Yes, his last name literally means "Cloud," and as of today, he is officially our new acting Minister of Defense.

Our entire government resigned last week, and while the political dust is still settling, the crucial defense spot couldn't stay vacant. Naturally, the decision was made to upload Ukraine's defense straight to the cloud.

But jokes aside, Khmara is a heavy hitter. He ran the elite Alpha special forces, then stepped in as the acting head of the SBU, and now he is running the entire Ministry of Defense. He is a combat general with a chest full of medals from the battlefields of Kyiv and Donetsk.

Basically, he has become the ultimate government troubleshooter. Need someone to temporarily run a massive security agency? Call the Cloud. Need a defense minister while the politicians argue? Cloud.

One day he might actually get a permanent job title instead of "acting," but why ruin a perfect streak?
