Witkoff to see Zelensky in Oslo, then visit Putin

Original version ·

Shuttle diplomacy is back in full swing, and Trump's team is heading straight to Norway to draft a plan before flying into the lion's den.

Steve Witkoff is heading to Oslo for high-stakes talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, the prime minister of Norway, and representatives from Britain, France, Germany, and Poland, alongside officials from the EU and NATO. The mission is to hammer out a joint peace framework to bring an end to the war.

Jared Kushner was supposed to be there in person, but fell sick and had to dial in remotely like a remote employee on a Monday morning standup.

Once the document is hammered out with the Europeans and Ukrainians, Witkoff intends to board a plane straight to Russia to pitch the deal to Vladimir Putin.

Selling an entire European-backed security outline directly to the Kremlin in a single round trip is quite the bold itinerary.

Drafting a whole agreement with NATO and the EU just to hand it to Moscow like a homework assignment is certainly an approach.
+6 solidNothing says 'I have a plan' quite like handing your homework to the person who is actively trying to burn your school down
