The US restarts airstrikes on Iran to save global shipping

Original version ·

So, the truce is over, and the American military is back to doing what it does best: blowing up things that threaten global trade. Apparently, trying to hijack ships in the Strait of Hormuz has consequences again.

The CENTCOM boys decided they had seen enough. After a series of completely unprovoked attacks on commercial ships and civilian crews in the Strait of Hormuz, the US military packed up their patience and unpacked the bombs.

American forces have officially resumed airstrikes on targets inside Iran to make sure the global oil lanes stay open and undisturbed. Meanwhile, Donald Trump called the Iranian regime "sick" and promised even more heat if they don't behave, though he casually reassured everyone that there won't actually be a "new war" and oil is about to get incredibly cheap.

Classic geopolitical parenting: first you warn them, then you take away their toys, and finally you explain that this is actually great for the global economy.
