Throw Out Timetables: Ukrenergo Hits Emergency Blackouts

Original version ·

Just when everyone got used to predictable power schedules, fresh strikes reminded the grid how fragile things really are.

Predictable blackouts were convenient while they lasted. After dozens of missile and drone strikes battered energy infrastructure, Ukrenergo and DTEK had to scrap the neat timetables and pull the emergency brake across multiple regions, including Kyiv.

Pre-published outage schedules no longer apply in affected areas, leaving engineers scrambling to stabilize overloaded substations rather than sticking to polite routines.

Power banks are back to being the only currency that matters, and finding a working wall socket feels like winning a micro-lottery.
