Ukrainian drones hit 13 power substations and 4 shadow fleet tankers overnight
If you thought our drone operators only worked single shifts, think again. Last night was a busy 'two-for-one' special featuring ruined Russian logistics and some very dark corners in occupied Crimea.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine just dropped a massive performance review on Russian infrastructure. Instead of focusing on one target, the drone teams decided to multitask.
First, they went after the power grid. Thirteen electrical substations were hit in a single night, with eight of them located in temporarily occupied Crimea. If the locals there wanted a romantic, candlelit evening, they certainly got one, courtesy of Ukrainian engineering.
But a blackout wasn't enough. While the lights were going out, other drones paid a visit to the Black Sea. They tracked down four vessels belonging to Russia's 'shadow fleet'—those sketchy, uninsured tankers used to smuggle oil and fund the war.
Now those tankers are either burning, taking on water, or desperately trying to explain why a flying lawnmower just ruined their illegal shipping route.
Multitasking is usually bad for productivity, but some exceptions are absolutely beautiful.
