Fire Point drones just made it to Omsk — that's 2,500km of pure reach
It seems the map of what is 'safe' for Russia just got a whole lot smaller thanks to some upgraded tech.
So, Volodymyr Zelenskyy just confirmed that Ukraine’s updated Fire Point drones hit an oil refinery in Omsk. To put that in perspective, that is roughly 2,500 kilometers away from the border. The Siberia region is apparently no longer the remote sanctuary it used to be.
The target was a primary oil processing unit, which is basically the heart of the plant’s operation. The distance here is the real kicker—the fact that these drones can navigate that far and still pack a punch is a massive headache for the Russian energy sector.
It turns out that when it comes to long-range technology, the barrier between 'near' and 'impossible' is disappearing fast.
