Ukraine's drones are turning Russian air defense into expensive scrap metal
It turns out 32 pieces of Russian air defense hardware were deleted in just one month, which is honestly just impressive math.
The Unmanned Systems Forces are having a very busy summer. In June alone, they managed to put 32 separate air defense assets out of commission. We are talking about 12 missile systems and 20 radar or electronic warfare stations that are now just piles of smoldering junk.
This isn't a one-off stroke of luck. Since the start of the year, the count has hit 195 units, including the supposedly invincible S-400s. The real kicker here is the speed—at one point, these drones were hitting targets every 52 seconds. It turns out that when you have enough eyes in the sky, 'strategic air superiority' is just a fancy way of saying 'sitting duck'.
Expensive hardware is only as good as its ability to survive, and clearly, it is not surviving.
