Ukraine tells the EU it's ready to speedrun six integration clusters

Original version ·

While the rest of Europe is gently sipping espresso and debating bureaucracy, we are apparently ready to swallow their entire rulebook in one bite.

The EU just agreed to open the first official cluster of talks—the "Fundamentals"—for Ukraine and Moldova. But Zelenskyy dropped a classic flex: why do one when we can do six?

He announced that Ukraine is fully prepared to open all six negotiation clusters simultaneously. Usually, this bureaucratic tango takes candidate countries decades, but we are basically treating the EU accession handbook like a side quest we want to 100% complete this summer. The ball is now in the European court, and the Cyprus presidency of the EU Council is already setting up the first meetings for next week.

Let's see if the Brussels bureaucrats can actually keep up with a country that manages state registries via a smartphone app.
