Ukraine builds an all-in-one elite strike squad because war moves too fast
Assault infantry, attack drones, and heavy artillery are finally getting packed into a single fast-response fist under Zelenskyy's latest order.
Modern trench warfare usually means calling five different commanders just to get a single drone to look where artillery is already firing. That mess is getting an official reboot.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy just signed a decree setting up the Joint Rapid Reaction Forces inside the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The plan is to fuse battle-hardened assault units, artillery batteries, and drone swarms into one ultra-flexible fist that can plug holes or punch through lines without drowning in military red tape.
They picked Brigadier General Dmytro Voloshyn, a combat veteran who commanded an air assault corps, to run the whole show. It starts under the ground forces, but the brass is already looking at spinning it off into an entirely independent military branch.
Fighting the slowest, heaviest army on earth apparently requires moving at the speed of a high-tech start-up with howitzers.
