Ukraine launches military contracts with fixed terms and sign-ups via Army+

Original version ·

The days of entering the military with no exit date might finally be fading, as Ukraine launches new contracts with guaranteed terms and app-based recruitment.

Let's be honest, the biggest issue with mobilization has always been the 'ticket to a one-way street' vibe. You go in, and nobody knows when you get out. Well, Mykhailo Fedorov just announced a massive shift: new contracts with fixed service terms and guaranteed deferments afterward.

Depending on what you sign up for, the term is now strictly set between 6 and 24 months. Once you're done, you get a solid, guaranteed break from service that actually factors in your previous combat experience. No more endless loops.

And because we live in a country where you can order a passport and a flat white with the same digital ease, you can apply for these contracts directly through Army+ (if you're already serving) or browse vacancies via Reserve+ (if you're still civilian). You can also just go to a classic recruiting center if you prefer talking to a real human.

Oh, and they are promising a new pay system, with the updated June payouts hitting everyone's accounts in July—no matter if you've signed the new contract yet or not.

It turns out treating soldiers like adults with schedules might actually be a great recruiting strategy.

Wait, so is this actually real? 6 months contract and then you're legally off the hook for a while? Sounds too good to be true for our bureaucracy.

about time. nobody wants to sign up for an infinite subscription.

finally some common sense. now make sure the commanders actually respect the end dates and don't 'lose' the paperwork.

the apps are great but let's see how this works on the ground when some old school colonel tells you he doesn't care about your Army+ app
