Ukraine reaches the Caspian Sea: Makhachkala and ships hit

Original version ·

Looks like the map of the war just got a whole lot bigger for Russia.

It seems the reach of Ukraine’s long-range strikes has officially hit the Caspian Sea. The Makhachkala port—a critical link for Russia to shuffle military gear back and forth with Iran—took a direct hit, and fires are burning there.

But the bad news for the Kremlin didn't stop in Dagestan. Over in Novorossiysk, three Russian warships were tagged, including the frigate Admiral Essen. These aren't just random targets; this is about cutting the logistics chain that keeps the Shahed supply line humming.

It turns out that distance is no longer a safety buffer for the Russian Navy.

The Caspian is supposed to be safe. That's a huge reality check for their command.
