Ukraine expands short-term military contracts to drone and mortar officers

Want a fixed 6-to-14 month military contract instead of serving indefinitely? There's fresh news from the defense ministry.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has been experimenting with short-term assault contracts that actually have an explicit end date — between 6 and 14 months.

Now they have expanded the eligible positions. Short-term contracts are now available for mortar battery commanders, artillery officers, and tactical drone company leaders.

Candidates can apply directly through the Reserve+ app without dealing with local draft offices right away.

Fixing service terms for high-skill combat roles might just turn out to be a solid recruiting move.
