Ukraine drone-slaps two giant refineries and a rocket-fuel plant in Russia
Our drones just flew over a thousand kilometers to hit Tatarstan's oil crown jewels and a key rocket-fuel ingredient factory in Samara. Because if you can't make rubber for missiles, you can't shoot them.
Last night was busy. Ukrainian drones paid a visit to the industrial heart of Tatarstan, specifically Nizhnekamsk, home to some of Russia's most prized energy assets. The targets were the massive TANECO and TAIF-NK oil refineries, both of which are now dealing with multiple active fires. Local governor Rustam Minnikhanov quickly claimed that everything was fine and production hadn't stopped, but videos of towering black smoke tell a completely different story.
But the real highlight of the night wasn't just the oil. Drones also successfully hit the Tolyattikauchuk plant in the Samara region. This facility is a closed-register defense enterprise that produces synthetic rubber, which is directly used for making solid fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles. Knocking this out means throwing a massive wrench into Russia's missile production chains.
To top it all off, the military confirmed that a previous drone strike on the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery was so precise that the entire plant has now officially shut down operations due to damaged primary processing units.
Turns out, air defense is great on paper, but when the drones arrive, even the synthetic rubber starts melting.
