Hunter Becomes Prey: Ukrainian Drones Wreck 31 Russian Air Defenses in a Month

Air defense is supposed to kill drones, but Ukraine's drone operators seem to have completely reversed the food chain.

There is a special kind of irony in watching high-tech air defense batteries getting hunted down by the exact tiny flying objects they were engineered to destroy. In June alone, Unmanned Systems Forces took out over thirty Russian air defense units, pushing this year's total close to two hundred.

The drone crews are methodically blinding the frontline, taking out high-value radars like the Podlyot and missile systems like the Pantsir-S1 across occupied Crimea.

While they were at it, the pilots also bagged fuel depots, a freight locomotive in Russia's Bryansk region, and a naval tugboat in Kherson.

The multi-million-dollar shield designed to close the sky now desperately needs a shield of its own.
