Russia's Latest Drone Spam: 72 Down, Still a Long Night

Original version ·

Another massive aerial swarm kept the country awake, featuring everything from actual weapons to glorified cardboard decoys.

It was a long night of air defense Tetris. Russia decided to launch a mix of Iskander-M missiles and a massive swarm of 94 drones at us. We aren't just talking about standard Shahed suicide drones anymore; they threw in everything from Gerbera drones to those weird, cheap Parodia decoys meant to confuse our radars.

Our air defense teams, mobile groups, and electronic warfare units managed to neutralize 72 of them. The real issue is that 19 of those drones still slipped through the net, hitting 13 different spots, while a couple of Iskander missiles managed to land their hits too. It’s a constant game of cat and mouse where the target is keeping the lights on and staying alive.

At this point, defense is becoming less about shooting down every single paper plane and more about surviving the sheer volume of metal being thrown at the sky. It is a grim reminder that some parts of the country are still paying the ultimate price for these nightly terror tactics.

72 down, that's actually impressive given the mix of decoys.
+5 solidCounting decoys is the new national pastime, apparently

Are we really at the point where they are just throwing cardboard at us to waste ammo? Disgusting.
+2 emotionalWar is hell, but cardboard-based warfare is just a pathetic new low for humanity

Stay safe everyone. It's getting louder every night.

The sheer volume is just exhausting. When does this stop?
