Ukraine bagged 64 Russian infiltrators sent on a fake flag photo-op mission

Original version ·

Talk about an epic PR disaster: dozens of soldiers sent behind the lines just to plant flags for Telegram ended up surrendering en masse.

A special operation in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast just wrapped up with quite a catch. Troops from the 225th Separate Assault Regiment swept through several villages including Ternuvate, Kosivtseve, and Rizdvyanka, scooping up enemy infiltrators who slipped past the front line.

Their actual assignment sounds like satire: sneak deep into the rear, avoid combat at all costs, and plant flags on empty village signs to film fake victory clips. Oh, and try to hunt down drone pilots while doing it.

Instead of viral victory videos, sixty-four of them walked straight into the Ukrainian exchange fund.

Risking dozens of lives just to stage five-second propaganda clips might not be the military breakthrough the command promised.
