98 out of 120 Russian drones downed over Ukraine overnight
The neighbor across the border decided to send a chaotic mix of jet-powered suicide drones, decoys, and ballistic missiles all at once.
Russia launched a massive attack containing everything from jet-powered Shahed drones to cheap foam decoys like the Gerbera and Parodiya. They threw in anti-ship Zircon missiles and ballistic Iskander-M strikes for extra measure, targeting cities like Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
Ukrainian air defense managed to disable 98 out of the 120 attacking drones across the country using fighters, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups. Still, damage was reported across 21 locations, including strikes near a children's hospital in Kyiv and fatal attacks in Zaporizhzhia.
Mixing actual jet-fueled explosive drones with cheap foam decoys is apparently what passes for high military strategy these days.
