Ukraine's air defense downs 96 out of 105 Russian drones in overnight marathon
Russia decided to throw a whole botanical garden and a literal parody at Ukraine overnight, but mobile fire groups had other plans.
Our air defense just spent the night playing the most chaotic arcade game imaginable. The Russians launched a massive swarm of 105 drones, and our defenders slapped down almost all of them.
But the wild part is what they are actually flying now. Alongside the usual Shahed strike drones, they are sending cheap decoys called Parodiya (which literally translates to "parody") and weird plywood contraptions called Gerbera and Italmas. They are basically trying to drown our radars in cheap junk so the real missiles can slip through.
Out of this massive, multi-layered swarm, 96 drones were completely neutralized by our mobile groups, electronic warfare, and air defense. Sadly, some ballistic missiles and a few strike drones still got through, causing damage and casualties. But the sheer volume of metal our guys cleared out of the sky is insane.
Fighting off an army that literally weaponizes "parodies" and plywood is the most surreal 21st-century experience imaginable.
