Air Defense Downed 117 Drones as Russia Launches Shahed Swarm
Russia tried throwing literally everything with wings at Ukraine overnight, including fake plywood decoys and jet-propelled drones.
Russia launched 136 drones and an Iskander-M ballistic missile in a massive barrage. Ukrainian air defense crews and mobile firing groups managed to neutralize 117 of those flying lawnmowers and decoys across the northern, southern, and eastern regions.
The flying lineup was genuinely absurd: standard Shahed kamikaze drones, high-speed jet-powered versions, cheap Gerbera and Italmas knockoffs, and bare-bones Parodiya decoy drones made to absorb defensive fire. To cap off this strategic masterpiece, one of the strikes managed to set a food warehouse on fire near Dnipro.
Launching ballistic missiles and high-tech decoy swarms to wage war against bags of flour and canned goods remains a truly staggering military accomplishment.
