Another Day, Another 17 Communities Targeted by Russia in Sumy

Original version ·

Life near the border has turned into a grim lottery where the prize is just surviving the day.

It feels like Russia has made the Sumy region its personal shooting range. Over the last 24 hours, they hit 17 different communities using the full menu of their hardware: guided bombs, FPV drones, and standard artillery.

The absurdity is reaching new lows. They are literally targeting people on bicycles now. A 69-year-old man was injured simply for riding his bike in the Myropillia community. Meanwhile, in Bilopillia and Seredyna-Buda, homes were turned into rubble by drone strikes, leaving two women dead and several others injured.

The authorities are doing the usual paperwork, documenting war crimes and opening files, but that doesn't change the fact that an ordinary trip to the store or a walk in your own yard has become a life-or-death gamble.

It is hard to call this a front line when the entire region is just a target.
