North Korean soldiers who got dragged into Putin's war and ended up in Ukrainian captivity just hit the ultimate lottery ticket. South Korea officially announced it is willing to accept every single North Korean prisoner of war who doesn't want to go back to Pyongyang or Moscow.

Some of these troops had actually written letters asking to be sent to Seoul instead of being returned to a firing squad back home. Seoul explicitly stated that forcing them back against their will is a hard no.
