Russia's shadow fleet just got a little less invisible

Original version ·

It seems the "ghost" tankers sneaking oil for Russia aren't as untouchable as Moscow hoped.

Turns out, being under sanctions doesn't actually make a ship invisible to our guys. A massive 244-meter tanker, the Fina A, which was busy hauling oil to keep the Russian war machine running, just took a direct hit in the Black Sea.

It wasn't just the tanker, though. Bridges over the North Crimean Canal are now looking a lot less usable for Russian logistics. The reality is that their secret supply routes are becoming a very public problem for them.

It is fascinating how fast a 'shadow fleet' can step into the spotlight when it starts leaking.

Finally, hitting the wallet directly. Hopefully, that oil spill isn't too bad for the environment though.
