Lights out in Sevastopol: the city that forgot how to keep the power on

Original version ·

Looks like the folks in occupied Sevastopol are currently enjoying a very authentic, dark-ages-themed evening.

Turns out, the entire city of Sevastopol just went completely dark. The local power outfit claims there was some sort of "technological disruption" in the Crimea grid, which is just a fancy way of saying nobody there knows when the lights are coming back on.

It is not just a flicker, either. They have effectively cut the power to every single household in the city. When the grid decides to just quit, apparently, there is no plan B. Meanwhile, the nearby Dzhankoy area has been sitting in the dark for a whole week now, so Sevastopol is actually late to the blackout party.

Occupational authorities are keeping their mouths shut regarding any repair timelines. Maybe they are waiting for a candle shipment.
