Russian forces target a Kyiv-Mykolaiv passenger train
Just another day of Russia trying to turn civilian transit into a front-line target.
The Russian military decided that a passenger train running between Kyiv and Mykolaiv was a valid strategic objective today. Because, you know, fighting soldiers is hard, but hitting a train full of regular people is apparently their peak tactical achievement.
Thankfully, Ukrzaliznytsia actually keeps an eye on the sky. Their monitoring team spotted the threat early enough to clear the train. The passengers were evacuated before the strike hit. It’s a sad reality when your travel app now functions as an early warning system for air raids.
The irony of calling this a 'special military operation' while hunting for civilians on a train is lost on no one.
