Russian Space Comms Center in Moscow Region just got a rude awakening

Original version ·

Looks like the Russian military lost another fancy toy in their own backyard.

It seems the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine just confirmed a hit on a top-tier space communication center near Beloomut, Moscow region. This wasn't just some shack; it was supposed to be the most upgraded and powerful hub they had in the central region.

The strike took out the main tech building, the big antennas, and the tower that held the parabolic dishes. Everything that was supposed to keep their space-linked military tech whispering in the dark is now mostly scrap metal. Just a few days after the Dubna center got a similar visit, someone is really clearing out the neighborhood.

It is becoming remarkably difficult for the aggressor to maintain a secret connection to the stars while their own backyard is catching fire.

How do they keep missing these? Their air defense is basically a lawn ornament at this point.
