Russia hits another civilian cargo ship in Odesa port, killing a sailor

Original version ·

Another commercial bulk carrier minding its own business in the Black Sea trade corridor just caught a Russian strike, leaving one crew member dead and three injured.

A regular commercial vessel flying the flag of Liberia was sitting in an Odesa region port, dealing with standard logistics. Then came the hit.

One motorman on board was killed instantly, while three other crew members had to be rushed off with injuries. First responders managed to evacuate the remaining 13 sailors before things got even worse.

Targeting random grain-hauling foreign ships has basically become a routine pattern rather than an accident. Flags of Palau, Tanzania, and now Liberia have all taken direct strikes within a matter of weeks.

Firing million-dollar missiles at foreign sailors hauling agricultural cargo appears to be the current definition of modern naval warfare.
