Russian missile forces steel giant Zaporizhstal to shut down
Russia launched a ballistic missile into Zaporizhzhia's industrial site, killing seven workers and forcing Zaporizhstal to halt operations.
Air raid sirens gave workers barely a few seconds before a Russian ballistic missile slammed directly into the plant site. People were simply walking toward the shelter when the impact occurred, leaving seven dead and over twenty injured.
The strike damaged power units and core infrastructure, forcing one of Ukraine's largest metallurgical plants to completely halt production. Other nearby facilities owned by Metinvest are currently operating at reduced capacity while emergency crews assess the damage.
Targeting shift workers heading to a bomb shelter remains a stark reminder of how terror tactics target everyday civilian infrastructure.
