Russia hits merchant ships: global food security gets a wake-up call
Another night of Russia playing pirate in the Black Sea, proving once again that they don't care about anything but chaos.
So, Russia decided to go after civilian ships headed to Ukraine again. A drone strike turned a dry cargo ship, the Victress, into a floating inferno. The crew, mostly from Egypt, Turkey, and India, had to bail out on a life raft after their ship became a literal wreck.
Tragically, a 58-year-old cook from Egypt didn't make it. The ship is effectively totaled and drifting. Meanwhile, they also took shots at ships flying the flags of Palau and Belize. Those ones kept moving, but the message is clear: they are just terrorizing the grain corridor now.
Apparently, targeting the global food supply is just another Tuesday for them.
