Russia just threw 70 missiles and 611 drones at Ukraine in a single night

Original version ·

If you slept through the night, congrats on having nerves of steel, because our air defense spent the last eight hours playing the most intense arcade game in human history.

Let's look at the numbers. Seventy missiles and over six hundred drones. For some perspective, the main target was Kyiv, which had to swallow sixty of those missiles alone. It’s like they emptied their entire winter stash just to make a point while the G7 is meeting.

They managed to set fire to the roof of the Uspensky Cathedral in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which has been standing since the eleventh century. They also hit the legendary Dovzhenko Film Studios and the Mystetskyi Arsenal. Because nothing says demilitarization quite like bombing ancient churches, art galleries, and film archives.

Meanwhile in Kharkiv, things took a tragic turn. The Russians used their favorite cowardly double-tap tactic, hitting the exact same spot where rescue teams were putting out a fire. Five people died there, including four firefighters who were just doing their jobs.

Fighting a war against movie studios and centuries-old monasteries while begging the world to notice how powerful you are is certainly a choice.
