Global oil giant Russia is now buying gasoline from India

When you have all the crude oil in the world but run out of actual gasoline to put in cars, life gets weirdly complicated.

Drone strikes on domestic refineries have created a massive fuel crunch across Russia. Gas stations in multiple regions are seeing long queues, rationing, and record price spikes just as peak summer driving season hits.

So Moscow had to look around for help. Russia has officially started importing seaborne gasoline directly from India, with at least 60,000 metric tons already dispatched across two tankers. They are also ramping up rail deliveries from Belarus and plan to pull in around 400,000 tons of fuel monthly from abroad.

Selling discounted crude oil to India only to buy finished gasoline back by sea might just be peak supply chain optimization.
