Nine guided bombs hit Zaporizhzhia, leaving casualties
While the international community debates "escalation" over coffee, Russian jets are casually erasing Ukrainian city blocks with cheap, heavy-duty gliding bombs.
Russian forces launched nine guided aerial bombs, known as KABs, straight into the city. According to local governor Ivan Fedorov, the strikes hit residential areas, killing at least four people and wounding six others, with rescue teams still digging through the rubble for survivors.
These bombs are essentially massive Soviet-era explosives retrofitted with cheap wings and basic GPS guidance. They are launched from safely inside Russian airspace, making them nearly impossible for standard air defense to intercept once they are airborne. The only real way to stop them is to hit the airfields and the jets carrying them.
Allowing Ukraine to strike those Russian airfields apparently remains too risky for some allies, whereas letting civilian buildings get vaporized day after day is just another Tuesday.
