Taking a stroll in the Black Sea has apparently become an unaffordable luxury for Russian warships.
Russia currently has zero warships operating in either the Black Sea or the Sea of Azov.
For months now, the proud Black Sea Fleet has been sitting in port, effectively surrendering its actual naval duties because leaving harbor tends to end in unannounced underwater promotions. All that's left of their grand maritime presence is the occasional cruise missile launcher creeping out once or twice a month, while aviation does all the heavy lifting from occupied Crimea.
A navy that is too scared to touch the water is certainly one way to control the seas.
