160 drones overnight: Zelensky pushes for faster air defense

Original version ·

Another heavy night of strikes hit civilian homes, a mail depot, and a market, making air defense the single most urgent topic on Ukraine's diplomatic agenda.

Russia unleashed two missiles and nearly 160 drones overnight, targeting cities across the country. They damaged residential buildings in Sloviansk, hit a high-rise in Kharkiv, and burned down a clothing market in Zaporizhzhia.

In Sumy, they pulled off a double strike on a local Nova Poshta delivery branch — first with a drone, then following up with an FPV strike. Air defense systems remain the absolute priority at every international meeting, but diplomatic execution is lagging far behind schedule.

Civilian casualties keep rising while agreed supplies take forever to clear foreign paperwork.

Diplomatic commitments do not intercept incoming drones on their own.
