Omega divers turn a Russian Su-24M into expensive scrap metal

Original version ·

Seems like Russian pilots are finding it harder to sleep at night in Crimea.

It turns out that National Guard combat divers from the Omega center have a new hobby: turning Russian bombers into piles of metal. They managed to sneak a strike drone into the Saky airfield just as the plane was getting ready to fly.

The first drone hit the nose, and the second went straight for the fuel tanks. The bomber didn't stand a chance. It’s a pretty bold move considering how deep this is in the rear, but apparently, the distance doesn't matter much anymore when you've got good hardware and a plan.

Expensive toys are definitely getting harder to keep safe behind enemy lines.
