Hunger stalks Oleshky while the world just watches

Original version ·

Civilization has hit rock bottom in occupied Oleshky, where the menu of the day is literally weeds.

Residents who managed to escape Oleshky are painting a nightmare scenario. The town is basically a ghost zone where people are starving to death because there's simply no food getting in. Forget grocery stores; there’s no trade, just bartering, and the lucky ones are surviving on boiled purslane pulled from their gardens.

It’s a total blackout of information and supplies. Neighbors might be dying three blocks over, and nobody would even know because the communication lines are dead and venturing outside is a gamble with your life. While the headlines talk about rumors of people eating pets or rats, the locals say they haven't seen that yet—but honestly, that's a pretty low bar for a humanitarian crisis.

Somehow, Russia thinks this counts as 'liberation'—the kind that leaves you with nothing but a patch of weeds to boil for dinner.

This is absolutely sickening. Where is the global outrage?

Why are we still talking about this and not doing something? Pathetic.
