Search and Rescue at Odessa High-Rise Concludes After Russian Attack

Original version ·

Another day, another senseless strike on a residential block in Odessa that turns home into a crime scene.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has wrapped up work at the 25-story building hit in the recent Russia attack. It was one of those nights that hits too close to home—quite literally for the people living there. Two lives were lost, and two dozen others are picking up the pieces in hospitals.

The teams managed to pull seven people out of the wreckage, including two kids. You can imagine the scene: just regular people, their lives interrupted by a weapon of war while they were probably trying to sleep. It’s the kind of news that gets buried under the scroll after ten minutes, but it's someone's entire reality now.

It’s hard to fathom how this became our normal.
