National Guard troops can now transfer via Army+ after AWOL
Military bureaucracy in Ukraine just got another digital update, making returning to duty surprisingly smartphone-friendly.
Ukrainian National Guard service members who went AWOL no longer need to drown in paperwork to sort out their status. The government updated the official Army+ mobile app to streamline the whole process.
Soldiers can now request a return to service and pick a brand-new military unit directly inside the app, provided their AWOL status was recorded by mid-June 2026.
Resolving military AWOL through a smartphone app is definitely a unique entry in the history of military logistics, but modern problems apparently require modern UI design.
Govtech in Ukraine has officially reached the point where fixing AWOL status takes fewer steps than canceling a gym membership.
