Russia targets Naftogaz: Winter prep just got a lot harder

Original version ·

While everyone was distracted, Russia decided to play hardball with our energy grid by turning gas facilities into drone targets.

It seems like Russia is really pulling out all the stops for their 'let's freeze Ukraine' strategy. This time, they decided to swarm Naftogaz production sites across three regions with a fleet of drones, including some of those fancy jet-powered ones. The damage is significant enough that they had to pull the plug on operations entirely.

Thankfully, the staff had the sense to stay in shelters, so no one got hurt. But honestly, watching them try to systematically dismantle our gas extraction during the summer is just a pathetic attempt to manufacture a crisis for when the mercury drops. They aren't just breaking stuff; they are trying to ruin the homework we've been doing all year to keep the lights and heat on.

A reminder that energy security is basically just a fancy term for whoever has the best drone defense.
