Casualties climb to 52 in Myla after devastating strike

A quiet village outside the capital is dealing with massive damage, 38 dead, and over 50 injured as emergency teams comb through the rubble.

What happened in Myla is hard to wrap your head around. A strike followed by secondary detonations tore right through a residential area, leaving 38 people dead and pushing the injury count to 52, including five kids.

The scale of the destruction is staggering: around 300 buildings took damage, from over 200 private family homes to 14 multi-story apartments. Whole houses were simply wiped off the map.

While bomb squads are still clearing unexploded ordnance, utility crews from DTEK and the SES are already patching up power lines on cleared streets.

Rebuilding 300 homes is going to be an immense uphill battle for a single village community.
