Russian Shahed strike hits Mykolaiv port, killing two civilians

Original version ·

Just another morning in Mykolaiv, where Russia decided that hitting a quiet port with a Shahed-238 drone was a priority.

So, the morning routine in Mykolaiv got interrupted by the usual suspects. This time, Russian forces sent Shahed-238 drones to play target practice with the city's port infrastructure.

It wasn't just some empty cranes getting dinged. The strike hit three foreign-flagged civilian vessels that were just sitting there at the docks. Two Ukrainians who happened to be on board one of those ships didn't make it out.

It’s a grim reminder that no matter how far from the front line one might feel, the absurdity of this war finds its way to the docks just the same.

Imagine just doing your job on a ship and getting hit by a drone. Absolutely nightmare fuel.
