Drones Hit an Oil Depot and a Wildberries Hub Right Outside Moscow

Original version ·

Morning near the Russian capital started with a dramatic double feature: burning fuel tanks and someone's undelivered parcels going up in smoke.

A swarm of around fifty drones paid a visit to the Moscow Oblast overnight, and the local air defense apparently decided to let the scenery do the catching. Instead of a quiet morning, locals got plumes of black smoke visible from fifty kilometers away.

The main target was an independent fuel depot in Noginsk, packed with twenty-four tanks holding thousands of tons of gasoline and diesel. Key fuel supplies meant for the capital's market are now fueling a massive bonfire instead.

To add a uniquely modern twist, a giant logistics center belonging to the e-commerce giant Wildberries in nearby Elektrostal also caught fire during the chaotic night. Local officials had to come out and admit the hits, while residents watched their morning coffee turn into an impromptu disaster movie screening.

Getting your online order delayed because an oil terminal next door is actively burning sets a whole new bar for logistics nightmares.
