A heavy loss: the Mi-8 crew from the Brody Brigade is gone
The war continues to take our best, as four aviators from the 16th Army Aviation Brigade made the ultimate sacrifice while hunting down enemy drones.
It is tough to write this, but we lost four incredible guys from the 16th Separate Army Aviation Brigade. On June 30, the crew of a Mi-8 helicopter—Yurii Voron, Valentyn Mukshynov, Bohdan Khmil, and Mykhailo Deryaha—were on a mission to intercept enemy drones. They were out there doing the dirty, dangerous work that keeps our skies a little safer, but they didn't come back.
These weren't just names on a list. They were fathers, sons, and pilots who knew exactly what was at stake. They spent their time protecting infantry and supporting our ground units until the very last second. It is a brutal reminder of the price being paid every single day.
Heroes don't just disappear; they leave a void that everyone else has to carry forward.
