Ukrainian Sea Drones Just Blew Up a $15M Pantsir-S1 in Crimea
Ukrainian naval platforms added aerial attack capabilities, visited occupied coastal positions, and turned elite air defense tech into scrap metal.
Sea drones used to just hunt warships. Now GUR’s Group 13 attached FPV strike drones directly onto their Magura naval platforms to strike targets on land.
The main hit was a $15 million Pantsir-S1 air defense system — built specifically to destroy incoming drones, yet utterly wiped out by one. To top it off, the strike team also knocked out a Russian military crane parked nearby.
A expensive short-range air defense system designed to shield vital infrastructure couldn't even protect its own construction equipment.
