Russian strike hits a Kyiv grocery store, killing three people

Original version ·

Another morning, another terrifying display of multi-million-dollar ordnance being used to demolish a neighborhood convenience store.

During the latest barrage across Kyiv, an attack ripped into an everyday neighborhood store in the Solomianskyi district. Three people were killed on the spot — a 36-year-old woman and two men aged 43 and 55 — while two others were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

Debris and blast waves tore through four other districts across the capital as well, gutting civilian cars, smashing garages, and damaging residential buildings. In total, the morning assault claimed four lives across the city after another injured victim succumbed to wounds in the hospital.

Blowing up suburban bread shelves and private garages remains the bleakest possible way to pretend someone is fighting an actual military force.
