Kyiv wakes up to explosions as ballistic missiles fly from the north

Original version ·

Well, the alarm clock today was exceptionally loud. If anyone hoped for a quiet morning, our lovely northern neighbors had other plans, launching ballistics right at the capital.

A series of powerful explosions just shook Kyiv, confirming that the air defense is already working overtime. The military warned about ballistic missiles screaming down from the north, which basically means there are only about three minutes to find a safe wall or a shelter.

This wasn't exactly a surprise, considering Volodymyr Zelenskyy openly warned just yesterday that a massive strike was highly likely. It seems the occupiers can't stand a single day without wasting millions of dollars on fireworks that mostly get turned into scrap metal by defense systems anyway.

The ballistic threat is especially nasty because of how fast these things travel. No slow-drone drama here, just pure speed and noise.

The local air defense crew continues to perform literal miracles, while the rest of the city gets back to brewing coffee in hallways.
