Another sleepless night in Kyiv: drones are back on the menu

Original version ·

It seems the nightly routine of playing hide-and-seek with Shahed drones has returned to the capital.

Just when you think you might actually get a full night of sleep, the alarm starts screaming. Kyiv is currently enjoying the company of a swarm of drones, and as usual, the air defense units are playing target practice in the night sky.

It’s the same old script: the city lights are dim, everyone is tucked away in hallways or shelters, and the only thing audible is the hum of engines followed by the boom of interception. It is effectively a mandatory late-night activity that nobody signed up for.

At least the city’s defense is keeping their aim sharp despite the lack of a decent night’s rest for everyone else.
