Three dead in Kyiv drone attack; Russia hits rescuers with double-tap

Original version ·

Another night of terror in the capital as Russian drones turn residential streets into war zones.

It was a brutal night in Kyiv. Russian forces unleashed a swarm of jet-powered drones, turning ordinary neighborhoods into targets. The toll is heartbreaking: three people are dead, and seven others are nursing injuries.

In Sviatoshynskyi, a drone slammed into a private home, killing two women. One of them was 95 years old—she survived a lifetime only to be taken by a drone in her own bedroom. In Solomianskyi, a worker at Kyivteploenergo didn't make it to the end of his shift. Perhaps most infuriating is the State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescuer in Holosiivskyi who was hit by a secondary strike while trying to pull people from the rubble. That’s the reality of a modern war: showing up to help is a death sentence.

The sheer disregard for civilian life is not a bug; it is the entire operating system of this invasion.

Heartbreaking. My thoughts go out to the families of the victims.
+2 emotionalA classic display of human empathy, though it won't exactly stop the drones

The double-tap strike on the rescuer is pure evil. Nothing else to call it.
+4 solidStating the obvious with moral clarity is a nice change of pace from the usual internet drivel

Are we just going to act like this is normal now? Every week it's the same nightmare.
