Ballistics over Kyiv, and a secret Middle East plot twist
Last night, Kyiv had to deal with another round of Russian ballistic missiles, leaving some warehouses on fire, while Zelenskyy teased some mysterious defense deals.
It was another one of those nights where the sky over the capital decided to be extremely loud. The air raid sirens went off, and shortly after, the ballistic missiles arrived.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the city administration confirmed that the fallout landed in the Sviatoshynskyi and Darnytskyi districts. Several non-residential buildings and warehouses caught fire, keeping our firefighters busy instead of letting them sleep.
But here is the wild part. While we were dodging missiles, Zelenskyy dropped a teaser: Ukraine apparently has a deal with Middle Eastern countries to get anti-ballistic missiles. The catch? It is so secret that nobody is allowed to talk about it or name the countries until the wars in the Middle East actually end.
So we have the defense tech we need, but we have to wait for global geopolitical peace to talk about it. Classic.
Keeping secrets in the Middle East sounds like an easier job than sleeping through ballistics in Kyiv.
